1. Eligible applicants must currently own or lease an EV capable of bi-directional power flow and be based in Massachusetts (leased vehicles must have a lease end date later than December 31, 2027); not have solar or storage on the same utility service that they are planning to use for the V2X project (please note that sub-metered solar and storage is also not eligible); either own the site where the chargers will be installed, or the site owner must agree to the installation of bidirectional chargers on their property. 2 Based on participation in two vehicle-to-grid (V2G) programs: (1) California’s Emergency Load Reduction Program (ELRP), which compensates at $2 per kW for up to 60 hours annually, assuming a discharge rate of 7.6 kW per hour; and (2) the CAISO Flex Market, with an average compensation of $0.14 per kWh, based on daily participation of 3 hours at 5 kW (15 kWh total). Actual earnings may vary depending on program availability, participation levels, EV battery capacity, and utility partnerships. This estimate is for informational purposes only and does not guarantee compensation.
3. Based on a modeled scenario for a PG&E customer on the EV2-A rate plan. Assumptions include a 2,400 sq. ft. home with average monthly energy consumption of 1,275 kWh, and daily EV discharging at 7.6 kW for 2 hours (approximately 288 kWh/month). Seasonal electricity rates used: $0.31/kWh in winter and $0.18/kWh in summer. Actual savings may vary depending on utility rates, energy usage, EV battery capacity, and user behavior. This estimate is for informational purposes only and does not guarantee savings.
4. Based on 30 kWh use per day using the an EV with a rated battery capacity of 111 kWh. Rationing power assumes 10 kWh use per day. Your results may vary based on energy usage.
